The employee, Jannelle Broland, said it all started when the woman called complaining that her soup was so hot that it melted the plastic lid on her cup.

"I told her, 'Ma'am, I can still help you.' All I ask is that you don't scream and curse at me," Broland said in a TikTok video. "Then he says, 'Oh, no, honey, you haven't heard a stop yet, and I'll talk to you as I please.' I said, 'No, ma'am, you won't,' and I hung up."

Broland said the woman then returned to the restaurant, screamed again and threw the soup in her face.

"I really felt like I had been pepper sprayed." Burned in the eyes, bleeding from the nose,” Broland said. "By the time I wiped it off and could almost see again, there were already customers and staff outside escorting her out."
